Immediate Past Master Ben Burbidge was flying the flag for The Furniture Makers’ Company, pairing up with a member of the International Bankers.

HRH The Earl of Wessex, president of the Tennis & Rackets Association, a keen real tennis player and multiple liveryman, attended the event in the afternoon to add his support.

Following the tournament, participants and guests sat down for a black-tie dinner in the President’s Room.

Commenting on the tournament, Ben said: “The whole day worked extremely well and was very enjoyable. If there are any other real tennis players within our ranks, I strongly encourage you to take part in next year’s event.”

The date of the 2018 event has been set for Tuesday 23 October.
