The future of design
The Young Furniture Makers exhibition returns to the City of London for one day only this October, offering industry the opportunity to connect with young, creative designer-makers, who are looking to make an impact on the sector.
Organised by The Furniture Makers’ Company, the event showcases the very best furniture and furnishing design talent from GCSE students to recent graduates. The Young Furniture Maker Awards are the student equivalent of the Furniture Makers’ Guild Marks, recognising excellence and the future in design. A huge number of entries are submitted every year for these highly competitive awards. The designs that impress the judges are invited to show at the annual Young Furniture Makers exhibition.

Recognises excellent craftmanship for pieces with a clear and specific purpose made by designer-makers in higher education.
- Design Award

Recognises the highest standards in the design of furniture for a piece or range which is intended for mass production by designer-makers in higher education.

Recognises an excellent piece that has incorporated textiles to complement the finish or effect of the design.

Young Furniture Makers exhibition 2023
The Young Furniture Makers exhibition returns to the City of London for one day only in October 2023, offering industry the opportunity to connect with young, creative designer-makers, who are looking to make an impact on the sector.
Doors to the exhibition will open at 1.00pm on Wednesday 11 October. From 1.30-4.00pm, a programme of short talks will take place which will provide insights on entering the industry. At 6.30pm, the Young Furniture Makers Awards will be announced.
