Imperial War Museum Duxford Visit
Private visit to the aircraft restoration company followed by the Imperial War Museum flying evening with dinner.
Join us for an extra-special day at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, including a guided tour of the Aircraft Restoration Company’s hangars, the museum’s exhibits and culminating in a dinner in the private Airside Suite to watch the Dusk Flying Evening from a private balcony.
INTINERARY
2pm – 4pm
Based at the eastern end of Duxford airfield, we have been given privileged access for a guided tour of the Aircraft Restoration Company’s (ARCo) hangars.
The ARCo is a family owned and run engineering operation specialising in the restoration, maintenance and operation of vintage aircraft. ARCo provide an extensive range of services to like-minded collectors was well as the Battle of Britain Memorial flight.
Founded in 1989 by managing director John Romaine MBE, a former Hawker Siddeley apprentice and BAE aero engineer. A highly experienced pilot with dozens of thrilling aircraft in his log book, John is also a Liveryman of the Air Pilots’ Company.
4pm – 5pm
We will have one hour access to the Imperial War Museum (IWM) exhibits before it shuts to general visitors for the evening event. Enjoy some free time visiting the IWM before returning to the Airside Hangar for a drinks reception.
5pm – 9.30pm
Drinks reception, followed by a three course dinner in the private Airside Suite. Watch the Dusk Flying Evening from suite’s private balcony overlooking the airfield, giving a splendid view of the flying displays.
