We were delighted to participate in the Bucks Skills Show with furniture businesses from our Southern Region at the beginning of March.

The annual event is organised for young people, parents/carers and individuals looking for a career change who are interested in understanding available opportunities.

Over 6,000 visitors attended the event across the two days, which took place on 6 and 7 March at Stoke Mandeville Stadium

This year’s Furniture Hub included industry representatives from Ercol, Rycotewood, Verco and William Hands, as well as our education and training manager, Rebecca Bertram-Smith, who was promoting our My Furniture Career website.

Students were able to participate in activities such as assembling and disassembling an Ercol Windsor chair, creating a William Hands coaster or compete to win a Verco office chair. Students were also encouraged to come up with jobs in the furniture and furnishings industry to win prizes.

Last year Ercol and William Hands recruited apprentices at the show and both companies have already had a strong response to their apprenticeship programmes.
