Manufacturing Guild Mark holder Jay-Be and corporate members Vita Group and John Cotton were among the 10 winners of this year’s Bed Industry Award winners announced last week (26 September) at the National Bed Federation’s Bed Show Gala Dinner.

Jay-Be scooped the trophy for Bed Manufacturer of the Year, while The Vita Group was awarded Component Supplier of the Year. John Cotton Nonwovens took home this year’s Component Product of the Year trophy for its new ECO₂Blend, a carbon-negative polyester binder fibre.

Other winners included Centurial 3 mattress by Sleepeezee for Bed Product of the Year; Justin Read for Sealy UK, for NBF Member Sales Agent/Rep of the Year; Dreams was the winner in the National Bed Retailer of the Year category; MattressNextDay won Online Bed Retailer of the Year; Peter Betteridge – Your Bed Expert triumphed in the Small NBF Retail Champion of the Year category; Sussex Beds won Large NBF Retail Champion of the Year; and Prestige Beds were awarded Ad of the Year.

Jim Gerrety, NBF President, said: “The industry-renowned NBF awards are a valued opportunity to recognise the standout companies and individuals in the UK and Irish bed sector. Congratulations to all the worthy winners and finalists and those who put themselves forward to be judged.”

The awards ceremony closed with a special Lifetime Achievement Award for second assistant Jessica Alexander, who was executive director of the NBF for 17 years, before stepping down in spring 2023 for Tristine Hargreaves to take the helm.

Master Amanda Waring was a guest at the event and gave a short speech to the dinner guests, thanking the National Bed Federation for its ongoing support of the charity.  A fantastic £2,157 was raised at the dinner by attendees.
