Liveryman at London International Woodworking Festival 2025
The London International Woodworking Festival 2025 (London IWF 2025) will welcome some of the world’s finest craftspeople this October – and among the highlights is a unique opportunity to learn from Georgy Mkrtichian, acclaimed wood carver and liveryman of The Furniture Makers’ Company.
Georgy, a master craftsman with decades of experience creating carvings for some of the UK’s most prestigious heritage sites including the National Gallery, Leighton House, and Buckingham Palace, will lead a three-day ‘Introduction to Letter carving’ course at the festival.
Organised by London Design & Engineering UTC from Monday 20 – Saturday 25 October 2025, the London International Woodworking Festival is the UK’s only dedicated hand tool event.
Highlights include:
- Courses (20–23 October): 2, 3, and 4-day courses led by master craftspeople, including Georgy’s letter carving course.
- Masterclasses and seminars (24–25 October): Expert-led presentations and short talks, free to attend during Marketplace hours.
- Marketplace (24–25 October): A lively event featuring tool demonstrations, book signings, maker showcases, and prize draws.
All profits from the festival will go towards supporting young furniture makers, helping to sustain and grow the next generation of craft professionals.
