A small group of members, led by Master Amanda Waring, took part in the annual Woolmen’s Sheep Drive on Sunday 24 September.

The Sheep Drive is a long-established event, celebrating a freeman’s ancient right to bring sheep to market over the Thames, toll free.

Today, the event helps raise funds for the Woolmen Charity and The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and enables several of the 111 City of London liveries to showcase what they do and the charitable work they support, along with stallholders selling wool based products, textiles, arts and crafts, gifts and food and drink.

Master Amanda Waring was joined by senior warden Brian Ahern, liveryman Tim Gosling and liveryman John Conroy at the Sheep Drive which took place on Southwark Bridge.

Any liveryman interested in participating in the 2024 event should contact Sally Kent, membership and events manager: sally@furnituremakers.org.uk
