Flock and Feather Dinner and Auction 2026
The Furniture Makers’ Company and The Upholders’ Company are delighted to invite you to an evening of fellowship and celebration of the time-honoured craft of upholstery.
The Flock and Feather Dinner and Auction will bring together guests from both our great companies to enjoy a black tie three-course dinner, followed by a charity auction and raffle.
The Master Upholder, Roger Wates, and the Master Furniture Maker, Debbie Johnson have gathered together a broad selection of beautiful pieces of handmade and exquisitely upholstered furniture. Furniture lots include two three-seater Knole sofas, a Parker Knoll 720 two-seater sofa with matching cushions, an Edwardian occasional chair, a Fine Cell small footstool upholstered in geometric needlepoint, and a modern footstool upholstered in Alderman Alistair King’s tartan. Other lots include artwork, a week in a Portuguese Villa and a tasting tour of Hayman’s Distillery. We’re very pleased that all funds raised from the event will be divided equally between both companies’ charities.
We are thrilled that Auctioneer David Bird, an auctioneer for Grosvenor Philatelic Auctions, will be joining us and has kindly agreed to oversee the auction proceedings. As the elected Ward Beadle for the Ward of Bridge and Bridge Without and a Liveryman with the Upholders, David will be expecting you all to dig deep to support the charities the auction will support!
Tickets to the evening are £114 (inc. VAT). Places are limited so please email me as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Payment details will be sent on confirmation.
The catalogue will be sent to all ticket holders prior to the event. All lot items will also be available to view at Furniture Makers’ Hall on the night of the dinner and auction. It you’re unable to attend but still wish to place a commission bid, please request a digital auction lot booklet.
