Chris Hyde, liveryman and chairman of our Education and Training Committee, was formally presented to His Majesty the King at the Royal Garden Party held on 14 May. The prestigious event celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to the education and skills sector across the UK.

Chris had the honour of speaking with the King about the furniture sector’s ongoing work, to support learners and developing industry skills. He was accompanied by his wife, Sarah, for the occasion.

Speaking after the event, Chris said: “It was such a privilege to talk to the King about heritage crafts, competitions and the Education and Training Committee’s projects.”

The Royal Garden Party is one of the most esteemed events in the national calendar, offering the opportunity to recognise outstanding service and dedication across various fields.
