Description
This study desk is the pivotal design from a range of solid oak furniture created for the Dickson Poon centre at St Hugh’s College, Oxford. Influenced by classical Chinese architecture and calligraphy, the leg profiles reflect the tapering weight of Chinese letter forms. The shaped drawer front suggests a slanting pagoda-like roof line, increasing in dimension where it abuts the legs.
