Description

Harrison Spinks is a highly vertical, luxury bed and mattress manufacturer, which also make and sell innovative unique spring components into other markets including nursery, automotive, footwear and furniture. The Harrison Spinks strategy has always been to be different and better, reinventing the mattress by improving all of its components.

Established in 1840, Harrison Spinks is a family-owned business which employs over 600 people and sells its range of beds under the Harrison, Somnus, Hybed and Spink & Edgar brands as well as manufacturing ‘own label’ mattresses for retailers such as John Lewis and Dreams.

In addition, Harrison Spinks owns and manages a 300-acre farm to grow hemp and flax and rear sheep, as well as sustainably managing woodland in North Yorkshire to provide natural materials for its mattresses and beds. The innovation in spring technology, investment in the farm and producing products using environmentally friendly materials has earned Harrison Spinks the highest of accolades from HM Queen Elizabeth II.

In 2013 Harrison Spinks was the first company to be awarded both the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development and in Innovation, and in 2018 Harrison Spinks repeated the feat, being awarded two more Queen’s Awards for Innovation and International Trade. In 2018 Harrison Spinks became the NBF’s Bed Manufacturer of the Year 2018/2019 for the second time, having previously been awarded Bed Manufacturer of the Year 2015/2016.
